Why Learn To Drive ?- Driving is an essential life skill which gives you freedom and opens up new opportunities.
- Driving allows you to be independent (not having to rely on mum or dads taxi).
- Driving gives you more options when choosing a college or applying for jobs.
RLM provide a friendly, patient ADI who will guide you through a structured course of lessons tailored to your individual needs. You will be learning in a new shaped Vauxhall Corsa with air conditioning and dual controls. How Long Will It Take To Learn ? - This varies with each individual pupil, but government figures indicate around 40 to 45 hours of tuition with an ADI plus 15 to 20 hours with a parent or friend is needed to pass your test. Some people take more some less.
With RLM you will not be given more lessons than you need.
Most people learn best by having 2 or 1.5 hour sessions which gives you more time to practice what is learned. What Do I Need To Do Before Having Lessons ? - You need to have a provisional drivers licence (both the paper part and the photocard).
- You can apply for this up to two months before your 17th birthday. This can be done either online at www.dvla.co.uk or by filling in form D1 which you can get from the post office.
- You need to be 17 before you can drive on the public roads.
